PROMETHEUS Energy Access Fund

AlphaMundi has entered a partnership with the London-based NGO Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP).Together we will launch an impact fund in 2012 dedicated to renewable energy access by the poor in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Main features

• Addressing the "Missing Middle" by providing debt & PE financing of EUR 125k - 3m to SME's and carbon-reduction projects
• Targeting a net IRR of 10%+ per annum, over 8-10 years
• Reporting annually on environmental (pollution prevention/reduction), social (human development & health improvement) and economic (productivity, jobs) impacts
• Complemented by a Technical Assistance facility run by GVEP focusing on fund pipeline development, investee technological support, and impact assessments

We expect Pormetheus to support 20+ SMEs creating 2'000+ jobs, to improve the life quality of 150'000+ working poor, and catalyze at least USD 4 of additional investment capital for every USD 1 invested.
