SocialAlpha-Prometheus

SAIF-Prometheus is a new fund that will be launched by AlphaMundi in 2012, in partnership with GVEP International, a British NGO with a decade-long track record of renewable energy SME capacity-building in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Prometheus will provide debt and equity financing to SMEs and small infrastructure projects in the solar, hydro, wind, biomass and biogas sectors, to facilitate access to renewable energy in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, with an emphasis on rural, off-grid communities.

Prometheus will be measuring its portfolio impact using the guidelines and metrics provided by the Global Impact Investing Reporting Standards (GIIRS).

Prometheus is a closed-ended fund that is currently raising seed capital for its first close in 2012.
