Zurich Insurance to Double Allocation to Impact Investments, Earmarking USD 5B

Zurich Insurance Group AG plans to increase its allocation to impact investments, earmarking USD 5B for a wider range of assets after devoting USD 2B to green bonds in recent years.

While it didn’t specify a period, Zurich plans to buy bonds that finance social projects and the sustainable use of resources, as well as investments in private equity geared to these goals. The allocation represents about 2.6 percent of Zurich’s USD 190B portfolio, mainly consisting of debt securities.
