Tim Radjy
Founder and Managing Partner


Tim is the Founder of and Managing Partner of AlphaMundi Group since 2008, and based in Geneva, Switzerland. He is also a Director of AlphaMundi’s SocialAlpha Investment Fund (SAIF) in Luxembourg since 2009, the Treasurer of AlphaMundi Foundation in Washington DC since 2016, and an Investment Committee member of the AlphaJiri Fund in Mauritius since 2019. Tim previously worked at UBS Wealth Management where he became a founding member of UBS Philanthropy Services for UHNWI clients. He also spent time in Bolivia, assessing microfinance programs on behalf of the Swiss Development Agency, and with WWF International as an advisor on major donors. Tim holds a Degree in Political Science from the University of Geneva and a Private Banking Diploma from UBS, and is fluent in French, English and Spanish.

Lisa Scheible Willems
Managing Director


Lisa Willems is a Managing Director at AlphaMundi and based Washington DC. She joined the company in 2013 as Director for African Investments. Following a move from Switzerland to the US in 2015, she started and currently manages the Group’s US operations. She created and presides the AlphaMundi Foundation in 2016 in Washington DC, and secured the initial funding from USAID. She also sits on the Investment Committee for SAIF-Bastion. Beyond her AlphaMundi activities, Lisa sits on the investment committee of Illumen Capital, a private equity impact fund-of-funds launched in 2018, and she teaches impact investing as an adjunct professor at American University. Prior to AlphaMundi, Lisa was Director of Investments at the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation where she was a member of a three-person team responsible for overseeing all aspects of management of the USD 600M endowment and played an integral role in building a new investment process. In the impact investing space Lisa has worked with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, an emerging market fund of funds sponsored by the US Government and Grassroots Business Fund, an impact investment fund in Washington, DC. Beyond her investing experience she spent four years working as a management consultant in New York predominantly at Oliver Wyman. She holds BAs in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

David Maina


David is a Director at AlphaMundi based in Nairobi, Kenya. He joined the company in 2014 to start the Nairobi office and work on the investment process.  He heads the team in Nairobi and responsible for partnerships, pipeline development and portfolio management. He previously worked at Abraaj Group as an Associate, where he was instrumental in the implementation of a Fund Accounting and Portfolio Management ERP, and also worked in the investment department as a portfolio analyst. Prior to joining Abraaj, he was working in a corporate finance firm focusing on small and medium enterprises. David holds a Bachelor of Education in Economics and Mathematics from Moi University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) from Strathmore University. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the United States International University - Africa (USIU) and has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.

Valentina Echeverry Perez

Valentina is a Manager for Latin America at AlphaMundi. Before joining the team, Valentina worked for six years at the Interamerican Development Bank Group where she structured loans and credit guarantees for inclusive business in Latin American and the Caribbean. Prior the IDB, Valentina worked in the Organization of American States and for a Brokerage company in Colombia where she managed and monitor daily trading activities for a group of private investors. Valentina has also conducted field research on microfinance and social enterprises in Bangladesh. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor’s of Economic and International Business from ICESI University in Cali, Colombia and a graduate Certificate in Corporate Finance from the Georgetown University in Washington DC. She speaks Spanish, English and conversational French.

Jimena Quiroz
Senior Associate


Jimena is a Senior Associate at AlphaMundi, based in Bogota, Colombia.  Jimena has over four years of corporate credit risk and global markets experience, and close to two years of experience in the Private Equity and Venture Capital Sectors. Prior to joining AlphaMundi, Jimena completed a voluntary program as an Investment Associate with Accion International´s Venture Lab, where she provided support to the fund´s deal activity in Latin America through the identification and assessment of investments in innovative fintech startups promoting financial inclusion. Before that, Jimena worked as an associate at the Private Equity Unit of Mercantil Colpatria, one of Colombia´s biggest financial groups. During her time at Mercantil, she collaborated in buyout due-diligence processes and delivered comprehensive analytic support to assess current and potential investments through the creation of financial models and preparation of internal memorandums. Prior to completing an MBA program where she did a 2-month internship at Bamboo Finance, Jimena worked for over 4 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Mexico; first as a corporate credit analyst and then as a corporate sales senior analyst. Jimena holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in Montreal, an MBA from IE University in Madrid and is a CFA charterholder. She speaks Spanish and English.

Lina Moya


Lina is an Associate at AlphaMundi, based in Bogotá, Colombia. Lina has over 5 years of experience working as a financial consultant focused on performing due diligence and financial valuations for M&A processes at PwC Colombia. During her years at PwC, Lina advised different types of clients, ranging from family businesses to large corporations, and from different sectors, including dairy products, pharmaceutical, and energy, among others. Prior to joining AlphaMundi, Lina was working at Prismapar, an investment bank focused on the education sector, where she had the opportunity to work in transactions with education institutions in Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil, and also started to develop the healthcare practice in Colombia. Lina is an Industrial Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, has a specialization in Corporate Finance from CESA and recently completed an MBA at ESADE (Barcelona, Spain).

Nicolas Zarate


Nicolas is an Analyst at AlphaMundi, based in Bogota, Colombia. Prior to AlphaMundi, Nicolas worked at Inverlink, one of the leading investment banks in Colombia, where he advised companies in the energy, retail, and logistics sector in M&A processes. Nicolas holds a Bachelors of Science in Management from Universidad de los Andes (Cum Laude) and from Tulane University (Summa Cum Laude), with majors in finance and management.

Arthur Crespo


Arthur is an Associate at AlphaMundi, based in Cali, Colombia. He is also working as Head of Business Intelligence for the company Kiwa, a global brand of premium vegetable chips made of native vegetables. He previously worked as Chief Operating Officer for the multinational Terrafertil, specialized in the fair production and worldwide supply of dried fruit and healthy food during three years. Before this, he worked during two years for PP Produits Prestiges, a leading developer and worldwide seller of luxury cosmetics in Montreux (Switzerland) and did an internship within the Compliance sector for Compagnie Financière Tradition in Lausanne (Switzerland), one of the world’s largest interdealer brokers in OTC financial and commodity related products. Arthur also worked in Emprender, a microfinance institution in La Paz (Bolivia). Those experiences allowed him to gain valuable insight and experience about Latin American business world and work as independent business consultant during his free time. Arthur is fluent in French, Spanish and English, with a good level of Italian and holds a Business Administration degree from the Haute École de Gestion d'Yverdon, Switzerland.

May Yego

May Yego is a Manager at AlphaMundi, based in Nairobi, Kenya. May has over 6 years of experience in impact investing, corporate & structured finance and investment advisory, having worked in the agri-business, manufacturing, consumer-facing, financial services and clean energy sectors across Sub-Saharan African. Her expertise includes: deal origination, due diligence, transaction structuring, term/contract negotiation and client/portfolio management. Previously, May was a Senior Associate at I-DEV International, an impact investment advisory firm, supporting high growth businesses on investment and growth strategies. Prior to I-DEV, May worked in corporate finance advisory at Burbidge Capital Limited. May holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School and a BSc in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi. She is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) and has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.

Dianah Irungu


Dianah Irungu is an Associate at AlphaMundi, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Dianah previously worked in two of the leading Kenyan investment banks (NIC Investment Bank and Faida Investment Bank) for two years as a research analyst. She conducted regional macro-economic, market and company-specific analysis assignments in her role. She published numerous reports on East African economies and companies in addition to financial modelling and valuation assignments. Key sectors covered under her research analyst role included the financial and insurance sectors. Dianah also gained experience in corporate finance and advisory having worked on projects that involved corporate restructuring and transaction advisory for client companies. Key corporate finance duties included thorough financial due diligence, ensuring adequate governance and compliance structures and investments for clients. Dianah speaks fluent English and Kiswahili and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of Western Australia, in addition to Master of Science degree in Banking and Finance from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy. 

Joan Mwasame
Legal Counsel


Joan Mwasame is the Legal Counsel at AlphaMundi, based in Nairobi,Kenya. She has previously worked at Oraro and Company Advocates, consistently ranked the top law firm in Kenya by Chamber and Partners Global Ranking; as well as at Wambasi & Company Advocates. She has experience in commercial law: both litigation as well as non-contentious briefs. She has participated in the advisory for a Rights Issue for a client bank and played a lead role in the legal due diligence prior to the launch of the Rights Issue. She has also handled legal briefs before the Tax Tribunal and Capital Markets Authority Tribunal and worked on tax appeal assessments before the High Court of Kenya. She also does tax advisory and business set-up advisory. Joan is fluent in English and Kiswahili. Joan holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa as well as a Master of Laws (Commercial Law) degree from the University of Cape Town.

Christine Roddy
Executive Director


Christine is the Executive Director for the AlphaMundi Foundation, based in Washington, D.C., USA. Previously, she was an internal strategy consultant with the United Nations Foundation (UNF), where she co-led an organization-wide systems and business processes review and developed recommendations to improve operational efficiencies. In her role, she also led the compliance, procurement, finance and operational start-up for new initiatives hosted at the Foundation. Prior to joining UNF, Christine worked as a Program Manager at ACDI/VOCA, where she oversaw a $48 million portfolio of agriculture supply chain development programs. She has relevant experience in Mali, Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Peru, and Jamaica. Christine holds a BA in International Relations from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She speaks English, Spanish and conversational Arabic.

Judith Santbergen


Judith Santbergen is a Manager at AlphaMundi, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Judith has over 13 years of experience in commercial banking, corporate finance, restructuring, and impact investing. Before joining AlphaMundi in April 2019, she has worked as a senior investment officer in the Africa team of Triodos, a leading impact investor. She was responsible for sourcing debt and equity investments in inclusive finance, renewable energy and sustainable food and agri in the region. Prior to that she worked in various roles for Rabobank, one of the leading Dutch banks with a strong focus on agri and SMEs. Judith holds a MA in Social Sciences and MSc in Business Administration from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. 

Marie Turk


Marie is an Analyst at AlphaMundi, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Previously, she worked as an intern in the Impact Management Team at BlueOrchard Finance, where she mostly conducted data analysis and impact measurement using social and environmental data. Marie also has some field experience in Bolivia, where she carried out a field study on credit and operational risks faced by rural producers cooperatives of cacao, quinoa and coffee. In Brussels, she worked as Risk Management intern at microStart, a microfinance institution that supports micro-entrepreneurs in Belgium. Marie holds a Masters in Economics from HEC Lausanne with a major in Macroeconomics, as well as a specialized Masters in Microfinance from Solvay Business School. Marie is fluent in French, German, English, Luxembourgish, and conversational in Spanish.

Uli Grabenwarter
Director of the Board of SocialAlpha-Bastion

Uli Grabenwarter is Deputy Director - Equity Investments and Head of Investments – Technology and Innovation at European Investment Fund (EIF), Europe’s biggest Fund-of-Funds Investor in Impact Investing, Technology Transfer and Venture Capital. Previously he was Head of Strategic Development for EIF’s equity activities and, in this capacity, has led the design and the launch of the Social Impact Accelerator, the first pan-European social impact investing fund-of-funds. From 2010 to 2012 he conducted a research project in collaboration with IESE University of Navarra in Barcelona and the Family Office Circle Foundation based in Switzerland, analysing the investment strategies in impact investing of 75 of the largest single-family offices in the world. He is a visiting Professor for Private Equity and Venture Capital at IESE University, a Trustee of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment, and invests as an angel investor in Life Sciences Start-Ups and impact-driven enterprises. He regularly publishes articles and white papers on venture capital and impact investing and is a member of several expert groups on impact investing and impact metrics across Europe. Uli holds a Master’s degree in Business and Finance of the University of Graz.

Veerle Berbers
Director of the Board of SocialAlpha-Bastion

Drs. Veerle Berbers has been on the Board of the SocialAlpha-Bastion Fund since end 2015 and has been a shareholder and co-investor of the Fund as well. She started her career in investor relations in New York, then moved to London to set-up the European operations of Technimetrics. After the company went over to Thomson Reuters, Veerle became a Partner at Brunswick, the leading financial communication agency, responsible for developing the Benelux market. Since 2004 she has moved her focus to impact investing for her Family Office and as an advisor for organisations such as Triodos IM, Cordaid Investments and Pymwymic (Put Your Money Where Your Meaning Is Community). She has served on several boards and is a Fellow of the leading Impact Investing Platform Toniic.  Her Family Office impact investments include both funds and direct investments in micro-finance, renewable energy, clean-tech, SME’s in emerging markets, land-mapping, infra-structure, food distribution, aqua-culture, Africa and Latin America. Veerle was born and raised in Belgium,  hods a MA in Andragology from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and is now based in Amsterdam. A Dutch national, Veerle is fluent in Dutch, French, English, German, and conversational in Spanish.

Paola Dangelo
Director of the Board of SocialAlpha-Bastion

Paola Dangelo is based in Luxembourg. With 21 years’ experience in the financial services industry in Luxembourg, Paola joined Innpact in 2012 to lead the team providing governance and management services to the Board of Directors of several impact finance investment funds. Having previously covered different roles at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., a prominent depositary and administrative agent with offices worldwide, as well as at Clearstream Banking SA, Paola brings with her many years of experience of custody, fund administration, and governance of Luxembourg investment funds. Paola is a member of the Management Committee of Innpact. Paola holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and International Relations, with focus on development economics, from the “Universitá Cattolica” of Milan and is graduated from the Boulder Institute of Microfinance.

Remo Oswald
Director of the Board of SocialAlpha-Bastion

Remo Oswald is Founding Partner and Chairman at Trail Capital AG, which is mandated by leading Impact and Microfinance Manager to foster their growth Strategies. Sustainable, Transparent and Fair for all Stakeholders. Before that, Remo was Co-Head of Business Development for BlueOrchard and was responsible for the majority of their Client Book in the DACH Region.  Previous Senior Roles were with Swiss & Global Asset Management in Zurich, where he was Director Sales & Distribution in charge of key clients. Prior to this, Remo held senior positions with Horizon21, Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie and BNP Paribas Private Bank Switzerland, where he contributed significantly to business development in both Switzerland and Europe. His extensive experience across all Asset Owner Categories in Switzerland and Europe, spans more than two decades and includes senior management roles as well as the incorporation, management and successful sale of an asset management company. Remo holds an academic degree in business and economics from the Zurich Graduate School of Business Administration and has continuously pursued executive education throughout his career.

Donald Peck
Chair of the Investment Committee of SocialAlpha-Bastion


Donald Peck is the Chair of the Investment Committee of SocialAlpha-Bastion, AlphaMundi’s impact debt fund. He started his career in 1978 as an emerging markets investment banker. Later he became an investor in new markets at IFC, CDC and Actis, founding and running a series of venture and private equity funds in South Asia. In 2006, when based in India, Donald co-founded Lok Capital and Lok Foundation which works with Indian microfinance companies to provide venture equity and technical/managerial support. Donald is now a social investor based in London and much involved in Lok and other projects in India, Africa and South America. A British national, Donald holds a doctorate in Modern Latin American History, and speaks English and Spanish, conversational French and Portuguese and a little Hindi.

Marlene Hormes
Member of the Investment Committee of SocialAlpha-Bastion


Marlene works as a VP at Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG), responsible for restructuring distressed investments in emerging markets worldwide. Previous responsibilities at DEG include negotiating and executing emerging market debt and equity investments. Marlene also serves as a Director of the Board at Vesta SAB de CV in Mexico. Before DEG, she worked as VP at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York, responsible for over USD 5B of investments in bonds, derivatives, and stocks. Marlene holds a degree in Economics from Boston College and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation in 2005. She speaks fluent Spanish, English and German and is conversational in French.

Marlene will start working for AlphaMundi on a full-time basis, as Managing Director for Africa, as of December 2019, moving with her family to Nairobi, Kenya, in January 2020.
